About Niswartham

Niswartham is an online crowdfunding platform that lets donors contribute to campaigns run by non-profit organisations ("NGOs") that have been verified by our team.

Donations

Donations are collected by Niswartham through Razorpay and settled to the NGO that runs the campaign. Amounts shown as "raised" on a campaign reflect successful donations, less any refunds.

Platform fee

A platform fee of 5% is deducted from each donation to cover verification, payment-gateway charges and operating costs. The fee is displayed to donors before payment and to NGOs on their dashboard.

Settlement to NGOs

Donations are held for a settlement period of 15 days from the date of payment before they are available for payout to the NGO. This period allows refunds, chargebacks and disputes to be resolved. Refunded or disputed donations are deducted from the NGO's balance. Payouts are made only to the NGO's verified bank account.

NGO obligations

NGOs must provide true and complete information and documents, use funds only for the stated purpose of the campaign, post updates on progress, and issue 80G certificates to eligible donors where applicable. Niswartham may suspend an NGO or campaign and withhold unsettled funds if information is found to be false or funds are misused.

Tax receipts

Niswartham issues a payment receipt for every donation. 80G certificates are issued by the NGO, where the NGO holds a valid 80G registration and the donor has provided a PAN.

Limitation

Niswartham verifies NGOs on a best-effort basis using documents and calls. We are not liable for how an NGO ultimately applies funds, but we act promptly on reports of misuse.
